This is the lovely error message that I get from Skype now that my account has been suspended because I tried to add more credits while I was overseas.

I dont mind that they have fraud control.  I worked for debt resolution company and I understand the need to make sure that every payment is valid and controls are in to catch fraudulent purchases.  However, GIVE ME A WAY TO FIX IT PROMPTLY!!!

Their idea of contacting customer support is for me to send them an email and wait for a response.  It’s been a week already, and I still haven’t heard anything from customer support.  God forbid that this service was someone intimately tied to how I did business.  I know some people who have considered using this service as a part of their business.

So my first tip of the day:  Don’t use skype for business purposes (i’m so frustrated right, I would say don’t use skype at all).  Customer support is an important feature when evaluating a vendor for your company.

My second tip of the day:  If you get frustrated, take the error message that you get, create a blog post about it, so when other people google that error message they get your blog post.

I too have just received this error but I was not overseas nor was trying to purchase extra credits.

I simply make 1 call to a phone via Skype. Once concluded, I hung-up and called another number at which point I was not connected and a message displayed that I was blocked.

What is frustrating is that I purchased a full year subscription of unlimited calling for which payment has gone through over 3 weeks ago.

But what is even more frustrating for me and is mirrored by this thread is the lack of communication by customer service and lack of a form of fixing it myself.

I’ve filled the online form twice so far, which states that we would get contacted within 48 hours at the latest, which itself is in the form of an automated email as the result of filling and submitting the online form.

I could justify a non-paying client having to wait longer that those of paying ones, but this is just ridiculous. I”m just glad I didn’t move to Skype for my business as well.

They really need an 800 number or a number in each country for which they offer a Skype # for purchase so that we can contact a person.

I really like Skype but must further emphasize that costumer support is an essential part of any business providing any service(s). I would sooner use a limited or more costly service with great support service than that of a free service with no support.

I’m not going to say don’t use Skype, but rather beware of it’s downfalls with customer service at the top of the list.

I’m absolutely fed up with Skype. I have not had a good experience in the least bit with them. I’ve finally resolved my account situation, but the phone quality with them is unbearable. I definitely would not recommend them for any sort of business use.
